Nahlah Ayed Discussing Her WWII Book

On June 4, 2024 the Atwater Library and Paragraphe Bookstore co-hosted author and broadcaster Nahlah Ayed in conversation with journalist Julian Sher about her new book The War We Won Apart. The book tells the story of one of the most decorated couples of World War II, Sonia Butt and Guy d’Artois, who made their home in the Montreal area after the War. Our Adair Auditorium had a capacity audience, including several members of the d’Artois family, and many others attended virtually.

Calling Gardeners!

Our Seed Library has resources to get you started this season. We’re offering packets of seeds for planing indoors — beans, peas, tomatoes, lettuce and other vegetables.

We also have a growing collection of books on gardening and seed saving. One example is Starting Seeds: How To Grow Healthy, Productive Vegetables, Herbs and Flowers From Seed by Barbara W. Ellis.
